What's in a Name?

The Sheriff was the first to tap me on the shoulder to suggest a new name. While I admit it is tempting to resurrect (pardon the pun) the Capper Brigade (or the Captioneers as they were first called), it implies that our primary mission would again involve psychological warfare. Our activities may certainly involve such, it won't be the focus of our mission.

Not to say Neo-Victoria couldn't use their services again. I'd enthusiastically help revive it as a seperate entity. I still hope against hope that meQal Anna would come out of retirement to join us again, or that Cappers who stuck their toes in the Grid's reflecting pool before like Shadarus would give this world another try. And I still think a Glitterdome sim would be a catalyst for may interesting, if not slightly "funky" adventures.

One point I raised is that since the physical Foundation was levelled (I'll never get over that blunder) there isn't an over powering need to tack the word Foundation at the end. Fuzz had some other ideas, but they were already Taken.

Some brainstorming:

  • The League of Extraordinary Avatars
  • The Futurian League
  • The Aethernaut Society
  • Ths Society of Steam & Sorcery
  • The Stalwart Companions
  • The High Tea & High Adventure Society
  • Torchwood (no, that's taken)
  • The Heterodyne (ah... that's taken too)

I had been thinking on this, but was not able to sit down with it and play it through, so to speak.

However, I may have a beginning for you - the Mason Advanced Parapsychological... et cetera. There, you have a vowel and hence a non-silly acronym at the start.

It might not be to your taste, but I thought I would offer it nonetheless.

At this point I'm leaning towards the High Tea & High Adventure Society. High tea. High adventure. High society. As cultured as it is direct. Quintessentially Victorian!

I can just see the wood-paneled walls with animal and monster heads proudly mounted, tuxedoed gentlemen saying "No rubbish! There I was!" while wind-up servants refill their cups of Earl Grey...

Oh.

Ah, I'll just run along, then shall I? I suppose it is all right, as I do not care for Earl Grey, favoring the green teas and chai myself.

I'm sure we can heat up an extre pot. I have some Vietnamese Green Tea a friend brought back during a visit to his homeland. Very strong and refreshing!

I was just savoring my Russian Black Tea myself. Full, rich flavor.

I think I'd better cut back before I start rapping about tea like that peculiar fellow on YouTube!

Herr Doktor,

Are you implying that you would not only turn away my staff, but the Vice Consul?

Tsch.

Oh perish the thought, Herr Baron! House Wulfenbach is always welcome to participate in any of my ill-conceived plans!

Come to thinkof it some Jagers in dress uniform would fit in nicely in the clubhouse, so long as they don't break the china or gnaw on the taxidermy displays!

Ahem.

Where might the damen be in this clubby vision of yours, eh?

They're just returning from a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Themiscrya. :3

And after the troubles with the Boyarin's Autonomous Exploding Samovar, most of the Jaegerkin know to handle the teacups delicately.

Pity, the Boyarin was very fond of that Faberge set...

Herr Veles,

I said the dolls would be the servants. Not the Jagers. I imagined the well-dressed Jagers would be guests.

And of course all avatars with an interest in Adventuring as well as Polite Discourse will be welcome to apply.

I am more than familiar with the SCA, but I admit I have never heard of the Anarchist League & Knitting Society.

Good to see forward momentum.

Don't mind the questions too much. When a friend reforms, there is always the question of how far they will take it.

Thank you Sir. My diviniations tell me the Rites of Deletion have already begun. In one month he will lose his powers and his face. In another month, he will fade to the point that no summoning can bring him back in any form. His name will be forgotten by the Grid itself.

Anarchist League & Knitting Society.

Whist in the SCA, I was a member of the Ladies' Sewing Circle and Terrorist Society.

We even had "Needle and Threat" t-shirts made.
